Where is Tocal?

Tocal is 180 km North of Sydney via the F3 Freeway. It is 14 km North of Maitland on the Paterson/Dungog road. Nearest large railway station is Maitland. The nearest commercial airport is at Williamtown (Newcastle), 50 minutes by car from Tocal. Newcastle airport is serviced by Aeropelican, Brindabella, Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin airlines.

How to get there by car

Take the New England Highway to Maitland.

If travelling from Williamtown airport, turn right out of the airport and go to Maitland via Hexham. Follow the road signs to Hexham (not Newcastle).

If travelling from Sydney drive to the end of the freeway and turn left toward Maitland.

Approaching Maitland from Singleton, go straight through the roundabout at Hungry Jacks/Horseland. Turn left at the next roundabout and follow the signs to Paterson/Dungog.

Approaching from Newcastle/Hexham, go along the New England Highway through East Maitland to Maitland. Turn right at the first roundabout and follow the signs to Paterson/Dungog.

From Maitland to Tocal...

Go over the Hunter River on the Belmore Bridge, then travel 12.5km through Lorn and Bolwarra to Tocal.

At Tocal...

If visiting the College, turn left into the main entrance. Except during field days, all College and DPI visitors should go to reception in the main campus area. See detailed campus map .

For those with booked accommodation arriving after hours, go to the main campus foyer and telephone the Duty Officer (instructions are beside the telephone on the wall in the foyer) who will issue keys.

Glendarra Function Centre and motel are directly opposite the main entrance to the College.

Toca Homestead and Visitor Centre are located approximately 1.5km past the College entrance gate, on the left.
