Tocal Wetlands Drive

The river flats and lagoon

your location on the drive

These flats are a valuable resource for agriculture on Tocal.

This small area is a good example of the excellent soil on Tocal.  The regular flooding of Webbers Creek deposits rich, fertile sediment that is excellent for growing crops.  Unfortunately the same floods can devastate crops growing at the time.

The lagoon provides a permanent source of fresh water for livestock . It is also important to the native animals that inhabit the area and is the temporary home to a range of bird species.
